After, Amazing #5, FMF

Unscripted. Unedited. Real. Writing for 5 minutes prompted my a single word from Lisa-Jo.

Five Minute Friday

Go:  This month I’m writing about making the every day Amazing.  They are short posts encouraging my friends with stories of how I found that day to be amazing, purposeful, inspiring . . . you get the idea.

When I hear the word After I immediately thought of “happily ever after.”  Oh how many times have I read those lines often symbolizing the end bedtime stories for the kids  (and still read to them even though they are older–but chapter books rarely end in “happily ever after.”)

Then the discussion starts about “do they really?

I’ve been waking up to over 20 years of “afters” and I smile–each day it gets easier and easier to love this man.  Each day I feel more blessed than the day before.

Amazing Day #4

Yesterday was crazy–in just shy of 3 hours I:

  1. got 4 kids ready for soccer–all dressed in gear, water bottles, balls and shoes . . . yes one kid did forget soccer shoes.
  2. Left the house with 4 kids.  Drove Park #1 to drop off the 1st kid.
  3. to drop off #1 kid.
  4. Drove to a second park to drop off #2 kid.
  5. Drove to a third park.  I’m the assistant coach for this team, so I had to check in players, give them uniforms, assign numbers, take money and NOT look like I was freezing (which I was)!  Left kid #3 with his Dad (my hubby) who is the Coach.
  6. Drove to an indoor complex, dropped off kid #4.
  7. Drove by myself to pick up kid #1 (anytime I’m in the car by myself it is like a little vacation–sometimes I even film myself singing and send it to my friend–she understands).  I was late–a slow moving train and sort of forgot where I was going (no unusual for me).
  8. Celebrated being Queen of the U-turn.
  9. Drove to pick up kid #2
  10. Drove home to serve up dinner for 4/6.
  11. Put everyone in the shower, assembly line style.
  12. Made sure all the nightly stuff was done.
  13. Serve up the last two dinners of the night.

My purpose today is to keep everyone on schedule.  I did the best job I could.  That dang train and those forgotten shoes . . .

How do you keep doing your best when things are so incredibly busy?  How do you manage those nights that are crazy?  What do you do to plan ahead?  I had dinner ready and the table set at 3:00 in the afternoon.  I’d love to hear how you prepare.

Be Blessed.

Amazing Day #3

the path to the beach . . .

the path to the beach . . .

In my Joyful Me page I compare our family to a puzzle that fits together perfectly.

God made me for a purpose.

God made you for a purpose.

Short of God calling our name, how do we figure out our purpose?

Have you found your purpose?  I’d love to hear how you knew . . . I hear crickets!

DO WE EVER KNOW WHAT OUR PURPOSE IS?

What if my purpose is to be the best wife and mother that I can be?  Does that seem to be enough?  The media, family, friends all tell me that it isn’t . . .

I am blessed.  I am enough just the way I am.

You are too.

Please share this with someone who might need to hear that they do matter, they are important, that what have to say is important.  Be Blessed and be a blessing.
