Here vs. There or Now?

I am in the midst of Legos, dinner, laundry, and taking care of 4 kids.

I was (years ago) taking care of 3 dogs and 2 cats.

I am in such a different place now.

But if I think about where there might be . . .

a quiet walk on the shore of Lake Superior,

watching a kid sleeping–with that tiny little smile that they have,

waiting to see if the sunflowers will grow,

swimming laps in an empty pool while Barb mows the lawn and I can smell the grass every 5 strokes,

looking in the mirror and seeing my Mom.

My here is because I was there and it shapes my now.

STOP.
