Food School: a 31 Day Course Day 1

Welcome, Welcome to Day 1 of Food School!

Let me just start by saying that I had a great time creating a few videos today–my hair looked great, I had my church clothes on (because I just came home from morning Mass) and even my necklace matched my earrings!  But I had a huge glitch in getting my video from my Canon to you tube–so if you have an answer to that problem–I’d be forever grateful.

This month is going to be awesome!  In this video I explain a little bit of the direction that I have planned.

This is the video for Day #1.  Glitch #47 would be not being able to have the video in this post–I have done this before but tonight–not working.  So I am not going to sweat the small stuff and keep moving forward.

As I said in the video if you have any questions or comments please leave them below!  or email me at joyfulmombaude (at) gmail (dot) com and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

I will be reviewing books, movies and products for you during this month.  Tomorrow I will show you how you can see the same life changing movies that I did for FREE!

I do have just one question for you–what about food interests you most?

  • how-to cook healthy meals with real food
  • how-to plan meals
  • how-to know what to buy
  • how-to know what is healthy
  • how-to read a label so I really know what I’m eating
  • what is a vegetarian
  • what is a vegan
  • why should I even care?

Food School has a syllabus but I have also allowed for a lot of flexibility to answer your questions and possible concerns about what is in our food.  All questions are welcome.

Be Blessed as we begin this journey of learning, inquiring and supporting each other.

Love the video Renee! (I will get to making videos one of these days – it’s on the list!). It’s always so nice to see a real person behind the blog.

What I am personally interested in right now is label reading, and additives, but I think your version will be quite different to mine, because you guys call things different things over there and – am I right about this? – use names rather than numbers of additives (what a radical idea!). I think we’ve just had a new law passed actually that means we will also now have names (as well as numbers?) on ingredients lists, but frankly, that just confuses me, since I’d gotten used to the numbers. Sigh.

      Kirsten,
That is interesting. I am going with the Michael Pollan suggestion of any food having only five ingredients. It is hard! So I’m trying not to buy processed stuff (can’t always call it food!) and that is hard too.

I am determined to have a healthier home! One change at a time.

      Be Blessed.
