Jump (Five Minute Friday)
Unscripted. Unedited. Real. Writing for 5 minutes prompted my a single word from Lisa-Jo. I encourage you to read what “one word” can mean to so many different writers.
Go:
we spend hours on the boat!

I encourage my kids to :
- just jump! especially when you have safe arms to catch you
- just jump! especially when you have a life jacket on
- just jump! especially when you know how deep the water is
- just jump! especially when you know it will feel like flying
- just jump! especially when few others are doing it.
I need to encourage myself to:
- just jump! even when I do not have arms to catch me
- just jump! even when I do not have a life jacket
- just jump! even when I do not know how deep and far the water goes
- just jump! even when I feel afraid of flying
- just jump! even when I am alone!
I’m still working on my big jump! In the meanwhile, I’ll be happy with my bunny hops.

It is ALL one kid–I have a rebel daredevil–I wrote a post about it titled “mini me”. I’m hoping if I can channel her energy . . . it will all work out! But yes, I do encourage my kids to at least entertain the possibilities that await them . . .

Even when we have none of the things you have listed, we always have our Lord just waiting to catch us when we jump into His arms! Trusting Him at times is just such a jump into the unknown, but oh, so worth it.

Bunny hops or big leaps — yay for forward motion! I’m amazed by the number of times the words of encouragement I tell my kiddo is so close to something I need to hear myself.
