To homeschool or not to homeschool that is the quesiton?

When we decided to homeschool the first time it shocked both my husband and I.  We were not a “homeschooling” family.  I had researched my son’s school since he was 3 and was quite happy with my choice.  I loved the school.  I loved the teacher and the principal–it felt right.

At the beginning of second grade my son was not making the transition.  He loved his 1st grade teacher and everyone thought he just needed time to make the adjustment.  I didn’t feel that was the issue.  I made phone calls and doctor’s appointments and had meetings until all the professionals involved agreed that homeschooling would be the best option–for now.

My son came home and flourished!  I got my kid back and I was thrilled.  I had 4 kids under 7 at that time so things were a bit busy.

I did not homeschool my other kids–it just didn’t seem to be the right fit for them.

After 3 years of having my son home–he decided that he wanted to go to school with his siblings–all 4 kids in the same school for a year.  The adjustments on everyone have been hard and surprising.  I hate eating lunch by myself and he wants to come back home on lots of days.

Where will it all go from here?  At the moment he is registered at the middle school and the other kids will be returning to their school.

Of course there is more to the story and that will be for another day.

Be Blessed.
