Joyful Vlog

Hi Everyone!

Today I tried something new.  I made myself vulnerable.  I put out into the world me–in this vlog.

me today!
me today!

I’ve wanted to create a video for several different reasons but came up with more reasons NOT to do it.  I am scared.  I’m not polished, I ramble, I laugh at myself and my corny jokes.  But it isn’t really about me, it is about the message that I want to send out into the world.

I’d love to hear you feedback in the comments.

Be Blessed.

Kudos! You are one brave lady. Your authenticity is inspiring. I’m looking forward to learning how to save money by ditching my expensive fabric softener. Great test vlog, keep it up-you have just “upped the ante” for the rest of us.

Thanks Jennifer–it took me 562 tries just to get this one! I’m sure it will get easier!

Great job on the test video Renee…it came out really good! You are courageous :-) I might do a vlog at some point(not sure I’m ready for that yet:) …thanks for sharing !

thanks! I researched for too long–I should have jumped in with two feet long ago . . . maybe I should vlog about how to vlog. Your encouragement means a lot–thanks again.

      Be Blessed.

    Renee,
I think you did a great job. You seemed VERY relaxed. I speak before thousands with much comfort, but something happens when a video camera is in front of my face. I seem to freeze up. It’s the weirdest thing. I applaud you for jumping in and testing the waters. Great idea. What kind of camera did you use? Blessings, Jackie Brewton

I just used iMovie–I had a free sub to Screen Flow and if you are interested I have a “guy” that can help out! I like Screen Flow and might go back to that once I have some down time with teaching.

Thank you so much for your kind words!

      Be Blessed.

Hi Renee! Saw this post on TW FB page. LOVE it! :) You ARE the brave one, but it was so perfectly personable. I am slightly inspired to copy you (imitation is, of course, the highest form of flattery). Only slightly because I can barely stand my own picture – forget about a video! But your wonderful example could persuade me…just need something worth talking about. I think your “test” had another function. It was a really great introduction for those of us who don’t know you! Me: I love to write because I can reword and edit and think about what I am saying. In RL I am a rambling, laugh-at-all-my-own-jokes, foot-in-the-mouth kind of girl! Again, way to go – I think it’s a home run :)

Britta–I was going to wait until I was skinny to make videos! But I thought . . . in the words of my kids . . . “maybe not!” I was going to wait until I thought I might look “perfect” whatever that is, and then I realized that I am my own perfect! I’m flawed, make mistakes, have tons to learn BUT I want to make my part of the world a gentle, loving, kind respectful place! Thanks for sharing it with me!

      Be Blessed.

Hi Renee, I found your blog last October during the 31 days series and I visit now and then. Glad I popped over today because I think you did a wonderful job with the vlog. Putting yourself out there, being vulnerable…. is hard for me in writing, let alone a video! Thanks for sharing courageously :)

I was smiling at you the whole time when you were talking! Loved hearing your voice & laugh again! It has been too long! One thought – can you move the camera up so we can see your pretty eyes & you are not looking down? I love you!
