My Own Work (finding my purpose)

Yesterday morning I wrote about being jealous.

I went to Mass and had some quiet time after homeschooling the girls and it dawned on me.

I am comparing my life’s work with others.  I have forgotten–Father forgive me–the bible story that I’ve heard a million times.

I am called by name to do my own work.  MY NAME.  MY WORK.  I should look to be inspired by other writers but not compare myself to other writers.

Writing here is my passion.  It is my work.  My intention is to encourage, inspire and humbly present myself in an authentic and genuine way.  Nothing else.

As I continue my journey with this intention, I see my purpose in a very clear way.  I’m evolving.  I am content to work on one challenge at a time.

Thank you God for giving me so many opportunities to be drawn closer to you.  Some lessons are harder than others.  I guess I can’t really stumble if I’m on my knees!

  3. ” I should look to be inspired but not compared.” I have to remind myself of this too, Renee. The comparison trap is an ugly trap to be in. Thanks for linking up today.

I like the idea of being inspired by other bloggers/writers/people in general rather than comparing. Great reframe. Thanks!

Thank you and thanks for hosting. I want my post to inspire through my honesty. I think that often we live the same stories.

      Be Blessed.

  6. Amen, Renee! If He wanted us all to be the same, well, He wouldn’t have created us each so uniquely, would He?! thanks for the reminder :) – lauren at mercyink

I’m just so excited that I’m finally getting “it”! When I stopped comparing and started being inspired . . . all of a sudden I was able to learn so much from the sisterhood of bloggers. What a gift each one gives.

      Be Blessed.
