Day 11/31 My Own Work (finding my purpose)

I remember the moment that I truly surrendered to God AND my husband.  It was the same moment.  I remember whispering to myself , “God whatever your plan is–I can serve you wherever we live”, and to my husband, “Sweetie, I just need to fly under your wings for a while”.

After I dried off–because in this house the only real alone time I have is in the shower–I began this new journey.  I am two years in.  I don’t mind moving slow–I’m sitting in the passenger side and seeing the world in a different way and writing about it.

In this 31 days of honesty–I’m reposting today.  I’m giving a talk about “finding our purpose” at the end of October and joyful living is the place where I’m working out the details.  If you have found your purpose and would like to share–I love to hear it–our paths are so similar yet so different and I love learning from you.

Be Blessed.

Yesterday morning I wrote about being jealous.

I went to Mass and had some quiet time after homeschooling the girls and it dawned on me.

I am comparing my life’s work with others.  I have forgotten–Father forgive me–the bible story that I’ve heard a million times.

I am called by name to do my own work.  MY NAME.  MY WORK.  I should look to be inspired by other writers but not compare myself to other writers.

Writing here is my passion.  It is my work.  My intention is to encourage, inspire and humbly present myself in an authentic and genuine way.  Nothing else.

As I continue my journey with this intention, I see my purpose in a very clear way.  I’m evolving.  I am content to work on one challenge at a time.

Thank you God for giving me so many opportunities to be drawn closer to you.  Some lessons are harder than others.  I guess I can’t really stumble if I’m on my knees!
