After, Amazing #5, FMF

Unscripted. Unedited. Real. Writing for 5 minutes prompted my a single word from Lisa-Jo.

Five Minute Friday

Go:  This month I’m writing about making the every day Amazing.  They are short posts encouraging my friends with stories of how I found that day to be amazing, purposeful, inspiring . . . you get the idea.

When I hear the word After I immediately thought of “happily ever after.”  Oh how many times have I read those lines often symbolizing the end bedtime stories for the kids  (and still read to them even though they are older–but chapter books rarely end in “happily ever after.”)

Then the discussion starts about “do they really?

I’ve been waking up to over 20 years of “afters” and I smile–each day it gets easier and easier to love this man.  Each day I feel more blessed than the day before.

[tweetherder]In everything, give thanks. [/tweetherder]

Hi Renee. Have been enjoying your Amazing posts even though our lives are very different and my children grown up and married. I love the way you seek to emphasise the positive and that is such an inspiring way to live.
Here, your thoughts may be tending more towards dismissal of ‘Happy Ever After’ but your heart cannot stop being grateful for the love you and your husband share. In this we are very much united. I thank God for my husband’s love, faithfulness and kindness every single day. He continually reveals the love of Christ to me and that’s a beautiful thing! Blessings to you and your family :) xx

    Dear Renee
I love your words about the happily ever after. Yes, one day we are going to enjoy this fairy tale coming true when we live happily ever after with our Lord! Thank you for your encouraging heart.
    Much love

So true — it takes time to develop relationships, meaningful ones. That means it takes life. The ups and the downs, the before and after all kinds of things, events, experiences. Someone to share all that with and grow … that’s nice when that happens, isn’t it? Thanks for your post – made me do some thinking about these things.

      Jenn,

Love the name of your blog! I’m on a learning curve again. I’m able to do things a second time around with my kids–but this time I am under zero pressure to be the best at anything–whew! Except for being the best Mom that I can be–given the current moment. (some moments are better than others!)

      Be Blessed.

      Debi,
Let me just be honest in saying that it isn’t all candy and nuts! I am blessed. I feel blessed. I think that is the difference lately–for so long things have been “good” in a default sort of way but lately . . . it feels better.

      Be Blessed.

    Renee,

Isn’t it wonderful to be able to say yes to that question. It’s hard work, sometimes it hurts, but it’s so worth it. We are fifteen years into our marriage, and are both more in love with each other now than when we got married.

That is so sweet! I think as we get older and more accepting of ourselves–we can be more accepting of each other. Do you feel that way too?

      Be Blessed.
