Joyful vs. Crabby

Editorial Note:  My new website is at reneebaude.com and the blog is called Joyful Mom–in everything give thanks.  Thanks Bryan for the opportunity to share quotes that inspire us–or simply get us through the day!  Bryan has a great blog Positive Writer.

I have created joyfulmombaude.com as my online persona because it sums up what I am–a joyful mom, married to an awesome guy named Baude.  I was thinking simple, honest and authentic.

Except some days I am not joyful, question my mothering and my marriage has its moments . . . so how can I really call myself joyful?

Joy is a gift from the Holy Spirit.  Joy is the outward expression of the inner dwelling of the Holy Spirit.

These are my top ten go to reasons I think I can be joyful vs. crabby.

  1. Do everything without complaining or arguing.  Phil 2:14  The whining and the fussing makes my head spin.
  2. In everything give thanks.  1 Thes 5:18  I try hard to give thanks for every moment of my life.
  3. I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.  Ps 40:1  Oh, how I lose my patience–how long does it take to “GET IN THE CAR”?
  4. Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  Mark 11:24  Please God, let it be naptime so I can regroup.
  5. The Lord is my shepard, I shall not want.  Ps 23:1  I know that I shouldn’t want a nanny, house keeper, personal chef, personal trainer, more time to finish the quilts in the basement–I know that all I need will be given to me in His time.
  6. Lord you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.  Ps 16:5  They why do I compare myself to others for approval?  and I would like my cup to be hot and stay that way until I was finished–at the moment my cup seems to be cold coffee!
  7. The joy of the Lord is your strength.  Nehemiah 8:10
  8. God did not give us a spirit of timidness, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.  On days when I just want to go back to bed . . .
  9. Create in my a clean heart.  Ps 51  Thank you for each new day.
  10. You formed my innermost being; you knit me in my mother’s womb.  Ps.139:13  I love to think that God has a stash of yarn.  I love to knit but these days I say I just love yarn–because that is as far as most projects get.

On those days that I think my website should be called crabbymombaude.com I just wait and know that my joy will shine brighter than that moment.

Be Blessed.
